When we opened Ficus & Fig, we hoped to create a place that people loved visiting. We never imagined how deeply this store would become part of our lives.

 

Over the years, this shop became more than shelves and products. It became conversations at the register, familiar faces walking through the door, holiday rushes, happy tears, hugs, stories and friendships we will carry forever. We hear so many of you singing along with the Praise music and we pray that, in some way, our store has been a blessing to you.

 

Here’s the hard part. We have decided to move on and spend more time with our families so…. we are announcing that Ficus & Fig will be under new ownership.

 

Letting go will not be easy, but we feel so grateful for the years we’ve had and the amazing employees who have come and gone. We could not be any more thankful for our current incredible staff. They are truly dear friends who have helped make this store what it is and have always been willing to do whatever is needed! Some will be staying so you will still see some familiar faces!

 

We’re also so excited for the new owner, Aspen! We know she will bring fresh energy and ideas for this new chapter. It’s a big challenge but we will be close by cheering her on!

 

Thank you for always supporting us, encouraging us and making this dream worth every moment. So many of you come in every week and have been so faithful in helping us get through Covid and crazy economy challenges. We hope you know how much we will miss you and we want to encourage you to show the same support to Aspen as she carries on our dream.

 

God has truly blessed us over these past 22 years and now we are moving on to a little more relaxed lifestyle! Karen will be doing some part-time bookkeeping and enjoying her grandkids. Kelly will be joining her hubby in retirement and also spending lots of time with her grandson.

We also want to thank our husbands and kids for their patience over the years as running a store requires being available at all times and holidays are crazy etc etc…and sometimes the best laid plans get changed!

 

Well, this isn’t goodbye…it’s THANK YOU! Please continue to shop local and, of course, shop FICUS & FIG!

There will be an open house on Friday, June 5th to say goodbye to Karen and Kelly and welcome Aspen! Karen and Kelly will be there from 9:30-1 and the welcome party will continue until 5pm!
